Description:
The historic Old Town Hall (Altes Rathaus) located in Munich, Germany. While its stepped gables and distinct spire give it a fairytale appearance,
this late-Gothic building was designed by Jörg von Halsbach and completed between 1470 and 1480. It predates the neighboring, more ornate Neo-Gothic
New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus) by hundreds of years. The striking 56-meter-tall clock tower originally served as the Talburg Gate (Talburgtor), which
was part of Munich's very first medieval city fortification system dating back to the 12th century. Today, the four floors of the historic tower
house a popular museum featuring an extensive collection of historic European and American toys.
