Description:
The historic Grand-Pont stone arch bridge spanning the Flon Valley in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Built in 1844 and designed by engineer Adrien Pichard, this 170-meter-long stone arch bridge features
two tiers of arcades, though the lower tier was largely buried when the valley was backfilled in the 19th century.
Today, the upper level remains a central landmark and active transit corridor in the heart of the city.
